Each year hundreds of clients partner with Metcalf & Eddy to engineer cost-effective treatment and disposal solutions to their site contamination problems. M&E provides municipal redevelopment authorities, international corporations and federal regulatory agencies with a full spectrum of remedial engineering services. From minimizing the effects of current operations to resolving the results of past ones, we deliver solutions that protect the public, the environment and our clients.
Our expertise encompasses the identification, characterization and evaluation of a wide range of site contaminants as well as the design and implementation of cleanup measures. We work closely with our clients to explore practical alternatives and devise cohesive programs that satisfy both external regulatory requirements and internal budget and risk management objectives. Multi-project programs, such as cleanups at Department of Defense bases due for closure, are a company specialty. We also have extensive experience at EPA Superfund sites.
M&E is at the forefront of developing new and less costly remediation strategies featuring advanced technology applications. These range from chemical precipitation and ultraviolet oxidation for remediating groundwater to solvent extraction, soil washing, soil flushing, bioventing and soil vapor for soil and sediment cleanup. Such cost-effectiveness is particularly important for Brownfields development projects.
