Project Spotlight
Water treatment technology used at wastewater treatment plants?

Some M&E wastewater projects like the one in Forsyth County, Georgia use sophisticated membrane technologies that make possible beneficial reuse of the effluent.

Design/Build

Metcalf & Eddy's services can be provided either on a traditional "consulting engineer" basis or via the design/build method of project delivery when this is more appropriate for our clients. On a design/build project, M&E takes responsibility for all the services necessary to design, construct and start up a project, in an arrangement that typically reduces project delivery time, total project costs and the client's project management time, effort and stress.

M&E's streamlined design/build process reduces preparation time for contractor bid packages, solicitations and award review. It also cuts the time spent on construction documentation, resolves changes faster, and enables engineers and contractors to make collaborative decisions. All of this helps eliminate needless delays and work stoppages.

Greater project efficiency
By taking on single-source responsibility for all services, M&E helps eliminate some of the problems that inevitably arise in most projects among the owner, engineer, contractors and vendors over responsibility for errors and omissions, faulty performance, and coordination. This results in a reduction in the owner's management, administrative and coordination burden and stress. It also offers protection from certain construction liabilities or claims.

M&E's design/build experience spans water storage facilities and treatment plants, wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities, and groundwater remediation at contaminated sites.
